Foyles and Orwell: 110th Anniversary with Quartet authors Brian Sewell and John Bird

George Orwell was born in 1903, the same year Foyles first opened their doors. In celebration of this joint 110th anniversary, John Bird and Orwell Prize winning Brian Sewell discuss ‘Tramping Today’.

Independent publishing company Quartet Books, The Orwell Prize, Britain’s most prestigious prize for political writing, and Foyles bookshop are delighted to present an evening of Orwell themed discussion.  The event will take place on the evening of Wednesday 9th October 6.30pm at Foyles flagship store on Charing Cross Road.

Renowned Evening Standard journalist Brian Sewell will be joined in conversation by John Bird, founder of the Big Issue. Drawing on their own commentaries, as well as reflecting on Orwell’s work, they will examine how tramping has changed and what the solutions could be today.

Tickets will get snapped up quickly, so get one now…
