Taki Theodoracopulos
Taki’s devotees need no introduction to his anarchic, hilarious High
Life weekly column in the Spectator,
skewering the absurdities of liberalism, political correctness and the
antics of high society. Long an institution, Taki’s weekly take on his
life and thoughts has become one of the longest-running journalistic
achievements of our troubled times. The Noughties decade allowed him to
range over a vast array of topics. His waspish, erudite and always
funny observations record the life, times and opinions of a man whose
appetites and experiences render his journalism unique. In the years to
come, his High Life column will rank alongside those other great social
satirists such as Mencken, Twain and Waugh, whose writings have made
journalism art.
Taki Theodoracopulos was born on August 11, 1937, in Greece. He was
educated in the United States at The Lawrenceville School, New Jersey;
at the University of Virginia; and in England at Pentonville Prison,
